FOREWORD
I lift a file from it’s spot on a shelve and invite you into the life of Olivia Faust and her son, Addison. It’s a story of a mother’s undying love for her son and his journey from a newborn baby into manhood. It’s a story fraught with peril and uncertainly notwithstanding the hope and love which can never to be destroyed.
It’s a story of consequence.
From each beginning there is a passageway into the choices we make. In this case, choices soiled under the umbrella of a Vietnam Vet, a decent man, although one who was consumed by memories of war and the need for alcohol to cover his pain.

My heart isn’t what it used to be
It’s been tattered and bent
It’s been run over, ripped from my ribcage, and Stomped on
It’s been beaten black and blue
It’s been bled dry
It’s been reshaped and settled into a place where tears turn to stone

Franshesca came into my life one month after I hit rock bottom. She searched what was left of me and found but a speck of will to live just long enough to reclaim what Addison deserved. She found his soul hidden in the shattered pieces of my heart and with a wrench she bared it wide open and let it bleed until every speak of pain and hurt had drenched the earth at my feet with its shame-shame for those on this earth who have no value for anything but that which belongs to them.
